Applied Acoustics and Signal Processing

About

Applied Acoustics and Signal Processing (A2SP) Lab aims to make advancements to acoutics/signal processing problems that are both challenging and of high societal impact. The members, including under/graduate students are instructed by Dr. Howuk Kim. A2SP Lab is a part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Inha University.

Research

A2SP Lab studies research topics regarding applied acoustics and signal processing. The specific research fields involve ultrasounics for biomedical applications, structural health monitoring, design of smart materials, active sound control, and sound/vibration control for automotives.

Teaching

Dr. Howuk Kim teaches under/graduate courses regarding acosutics and vibrations for mechanical systems. As for the undergraduate course, he teaches Dynamics 1 and Theory of Vibrations. For the graduate course, he currently intructs Structural Dynamics class. He also has a plan to provide some other advanced graduate courses regarding ultrasonics, smart material designs.
